Infrastructure/Communication Networks/Local Area Network

The local area network (LAN) of the GridLab is a basic Ethernet network after the standards of the school. The network is used to embed the workplace computers in the schools network and to communicate with all the equipement in the GridLab. The main protocol used in the LAN is the internet protocol (IP). The LAN is not based on a usual Ethernet cabling but on a Universal Cabling to be coherent with the schools guidelines and to remain flexible for future network usages.
