This document explains how to setup the ARMEBS4 on your computer.
This setup has been tested on :
- Windows XP SP3 - 32 bits
- Windows 7 SP1 - 64 bits
- Windows 8.1 - 64 bits
Current versions
- Eclipse Luna (4.4 - 32 bits)
- gcc-arm-none-eabi - 4_8-2014q2-20140609-win32
- Openocd - 0.8.0
- MSYS - 1.0.11
- make - 3.8.1
- Zadig - 2.1.0
- ARMEBS4 drivers - 1.0.1.0
- Java SE Development Kit 8u20 (32 bits)
- svn - 1.8.10
- doxygen - 1.8.8
ChangeLog
Changes from the preceding version
- Java JDK integrated
- The cost is 440 MBytes disk space, but the ARMEBS4 tools are fully constrained => no problems with others JRE/JDK installed
- No changes to the windows registry ;)
- Added subversion and doxygen
- Added offline (doxygen generated) documentation
- Added link to online and offline documentation
- Now use an installer (instead of .zip)
Prerequisites
- Get an ARMEBS4 Suitcase (ask someone from the ARMBES4 team)
- Verify it's content:
- An ARMEBS4 board
- A USB cable (A -> micro B)
- Verify it's content:
- A computer
- With a 64 bit windows (Tested on 7)
- A USB port
- 2 GByte free HDD space
- You MUST have administrator right to run this setup
- Get the setup file armebs4-windows-YYYY-MM-DD.exe
Setup
- run
armebs4-windows-YYYY-MM-DD.exe
- Don't use "C:\Program Files\" as destination, the space will cause problems
- Remember where you install it.
Drivers
windows 8 users : Driver signature enforcement must be disable before the next steps (here is a how to).
- Connect the ARMEBS4 board to the computer using the provided USB cable :
- The Connector is labelled "debug"
- The green PWR led should be lit
- Wait for automatic drivers installation fail
- Open the Device manager
- Select "View > Devices by connection"
- You should see 1 device with a yellow warning symbol :
- right-click update driver software... > browse my computer > c:\Programs\ARMEBS4\2014-09-16\tools\drivers > > install this driver anyway
- You should see 4 devices with a yellow warning symbol and a ARMEBS4 name :
- For each device do (-> 4 times) :
- right-click update driver software... > browse my computer > c:\Programs\ARMEBS4\2014-09-16\tools\drivers > > install this driver anyway
- Now you've got 3 usb serial ports (and don't ask me why there are only 3...)
- For each usb serial port with the warning do (-> 4 times) :
- right-click update driver software... > browse my computer > c:\Programs\ARMEBS4\2014-09-16\tools\drivers > > install this driver anyway
- run C:\Programs\ARMEBS4\2014-09-16\tools\zadig\zadig.exe
- options > List all devices
- select armebs4 v1.1 (Interface0)
- select Winusb
- click on the big button "Replace Driver" or "Reinstall Driver"
