Here you can find a list of Infotronics projects carried out at the HES-SO Valais Wallis
HDL
CubeSatCom
The CubeSatCom project develops the digital baseband electronics for satellite communication. It consists of 2 parts:
- channel coding and decoding, in order to overcome transmission errors
- data modulation and demodulation for radio transmission
Dormouse
The Dormouse project consists in connecting multiple switching power supplies to a single master via an optical Ethernet link.
EDA
EDA is a collection of libraries, IPs and template designs maintained and used at HES-SO Valais Wallis.
BasMI
Internal Ra&D Project for a more unified "Base Measurement Instrumentation"
PTP
Defining the synchronisation algorithm of a slave clock to a master clock with the IEEE Std 1588 - Precision Time Protocol protocol.
- internal Applied research project
- industry project (access restricted to project members)
EzCat
Project in collaboration with HEIG-VD
AMBAdraw (a.k.a. AMBArchitect)
Graphical user interface (GUI) for GRLIB-AMBA
Math2Mat
Automatically translate mathematical formulas to VHLD code, inclusive optimisation and testbench in SystemVerilog.
Microcone
An intelligent Microphone to record group conversations
MAC IP
An Ethernet Transceiver IP for FPGA
FPGA-EBS
HES-SO//Vs FPGA Development Board
USBCypress
This is a VHDL IP core which allows to connect a FPGA to PC over USB with help of a Cypress USB driver chip
Embedded Systems
DeepSkin
BioLum
BioLum is an automatic system to measure marine pollutants using biosensors for the BRAAVOO project. The first tests in a real-live environment have been featured by euronews.
CubeCluster
The CubeCluster project is a collaboration between HE ARC and the ISI Institute.
The board features an FPGA connected to 5 Edison modules for data processing. It is intended to allow high processing power combined to low power consumption.
Envirobot
Envirobot is an ambitious high end project in the nano-tera program. Its major aim is to develop and construct a demonstrator robot platform (the Envirobot) that samples and measures a set of relevant water quality parameters in surface water bodies by the incorporation of optical, physical, chemical and biological sensors. The Envirobot platform will be based on existing segmented anguilliform Amphibots, but with important adaptations in terms of energy use and efficiency, sensory decision programming, and communication possibilities. The Envirobot is invented to perform autonomous surveying or autonavigation. In autonomous surveying the robot will sample and analyze water bodies according to a preset path and defined number of waypoints.
IGMAA
Industrial Grade Material Analysis and Applications: an internal research project to analyze different parameters (speed, resolution, sensitivity) of current Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) equipment, tools and methodologies to find their limits and propose ways to increase them.
U-SLO
Ubiquitous Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope: a cheap and miniturised SLO based on MEMS scanning mirrors
CPPS
Wiki page for the CPPS project.
CanSat
Mini-satellite in the form and size of a soda can containing five PCBs with FPGA, processor, wireless communication and sensors.
Swiss Cube
SAMS2
In collaboration with UNIL and EPFL
Smart IPv6 Sensor
