Vivado stalls when opening a target
- this happens when you unplug the programmer or powercycle the FPGA while a target is open
- kill the task
hw_server.exe
- restart Vivado
strange messages in the Messages view
- right-click -> Discard old messages
Vivado crashes when opening a waveform
- this is known bug caused by non-existing signals in the waveform and fixed in higher versions
- delete all the
*.wcfg
files in<your_project>.hw/hw_x/wave/hw_il_data_x/
